Nepal has made significant progress in sustainable development, with its SDG Index score rising from 49.9 in 2000 to 66.5 in 2023. The country performs best in Goal 13 (Climate Action) and Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), while its lowest performance is seen in Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure). Despite this positive upward trajectory across most indicators, Nepal's overall score of 66.5 remains slightly below the East & South Asia regional average of 67.7.
